What does wellness and being healthy mean to you?

Wellness and healthy comes from within to me like how you feel about yourself. If you take care of yourself mentally and spiritually, naturally it makes you want to take care of your body and help achieve its greatest potential!

Share with us a funny story related to barre.
How did you get into BarreAmped and what are your future plans for barre?

Not a funny story but i always find it funny to explain to people that don’t know what is barre during introductions that is isn’t “BAR”, they think i’m going to a cocktail-making class. I got in BarreAmped because i started on Pilates and find it the closest method to Pilates which i really do enjoy on top of the fact i already enjoy barre. I still enjoy all methods of barre but would love to incorporate my classes with Pilates(when i get to a certain level of Pilates that is)

What is your favorite way (aside from barre) to keep fit and find some downtime?

I like to mix the type of workouts in a week – cardio for the heart, strength training to build muscles, some resistance training and mobility work.

List your 3 dinner party dream guests, what would you talk about and what dish would you prepare for them?

Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear, Robert Pattinson and Drake.
I would ask them about their various works in entertainment. I can’t cook but will try to impress with a nice bottle of wine.

List your 3 favorite travel destinations, and list 3 more that you want to travel to and why.
Arizona, Cappadocia and Ho Chi Minh, actually also anywhere that i can dive.
Capri, Jordan and Maldives – I love Italian food, places with rich history and scuba diving.

How did you get involved with Barre 2 Barre?

I came for classes as a student, really enjoyed it and then the BarreAmped certification course came at the right time where i was in between jobs.

What is your role within the team?

Freelance instructor

Is this your first experience with barre? How do you remember your first class?

My first experience was almost 10 years ago and that was when barre was not a big thing in Singapore. I remember the burn and also loved how posture/form was such a big emphasis in barre, i struggled at the beginning!

What physical or mental benefits have you experience in or outside of class since starting barre?

I find myself correcting my walking/standing posture. I also make sure to engage the correct muscle through mind-muscle connection in any type of exercise.

What else do you like to do for your fitness and well-being?

Scuba diving! Occasionally I also really enjoy martial arts – it is good for endurance of the body and mind.
